For the Reporter

Mountain View Cemetery’s annual Marker Clean Up Day is Saturday, from 9 am. to 1 p.m.

Families are invited to clean and care for their markers in advance of Mother’s Day and Memorial Day.

Markers are considered private property and normal care and maintenance is the responsibility of the respective family. However, cemetery staff will be on hand during the event to lend assistance and basic tools.

Special Memorial Day hours are Saturday, May 28, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and Sunday, May 29, from noon to 4:30 p.m. Memorial Day service begins at 10 a.m., Monday, May 30.

Mountain View Cemetery is a self-supporting municipal cemetery operated by the City of Auburn. Located on 60 gently sloping acres with sweeping and stunning views of the Cascade Mountains and Mount Rainier, the cemetery has been serving the community for more than 100 years.

The profit from purchases at the cemetery go directly into the care, maintenance and improvement of the cemetery.
