The Maple Valley Youth Symphony Orchestra is offering its summer music camp Aug. 16-20.
The camp will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., with a concert set for 7 p.m. Aug. 20 at Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church, 23855 SE 216th St., Maple Valley.
Cost is $10 per person.
This summer’s theme is “Epic” and features music from favorite epic movies such as “Lord of the Rings.”
“We do this so that every kid can afford to come to camp regardless of their financial situation,” said Elisa Lewis, the youth symphony’s executive director. “It’s a win-win. The kids and their families get to try out the orchestra, and it helps us grow our program in a fun way.”
