The Neely Mansion Association has been honored with the John D. Spellman Historic Preservation Award for Exceptional Achievement in Restoration.
Rhonda Berry, assistant deputy county executive for King County, presented the award in recognition of renovations recently completed at the 1894 Victorian classic revival farmhouse.
Weather and the passage of time had contributed to the deterioration of the west porch and a number of columns. Nuxoll Construction of Vashon Island completed the repairs in accordance with National Historic Preservation standards.
4Culture of King County supported the project.
Neely Mansion, a King County and state landmark, is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
A vintage fashion show is scheduled for Sunday, July 20. Visit www.neelymansion.org and the Neely Mansion Association Facebook page for more information.
