Neighbors and an off-duty Valley Regional Fire Authority (VRFA) captain spotted heavy smoke coming from a vacant home at 1017 8 St. NE in Auburn just before 8:30 this morning and called 911.
The first VRFA fire crews were on the scene within three minutes and quickly extinguished the fire in the nearly 1,800-square-foot rambler.
Fourteen firefighters from the VRFA and Kent Fire RFA responded in three fire engines, one ladder truck and one medical aid unit.
No one was hurt in the fire, but the home was heavily damaged.
The fire is currently under investigation.
