KIMCO Reality is putting up a new 5,870 square-foot building on the site of the former Denny’s at 502 15th St. NE that will house a MOD Pizza restaurant and a dental company.
Mod Pizza has applied for a Tenant Improvement building permit that calls for it to occupy 2,794-square-feet of the space. The city of Auburn’s Department of Community Development approved that permit on June 2nd but the developer has not yet paid for it, nor has the city issued it.
“This is normal as they wait to make that investment after the building is more complete,” said Jeff Tate, Director of Community Development for the city of Auburn.
A dental company has applied for a permit to occupy the rest of the space. The city approved its TI permit on on May 13, but the city has not issued that one either, for the same reason cited above.
