Olympic Middle School will host a Rachel’s Challenge community presentation at 6 p.m. Monday in the school gymnasium, 1825 K St. SE.
Rachel’s Challenge is an assembly program that communicates the events of the Columbine High School shootings through the life of Rachel Scott, the first person killed in the 1999 tragedy. Through powerful video/audio footage, the presentation motivates students to positively change the way they treat others.
The presentation is followed by an interactive 45-minute training session involving adult and student leaders that shows how to sustain the momentum created by the assembly. The assembly creates the “want to” or desire for positive change. The training session teaches the “how to” and ensures that the positive impact will continue.
