Pacific City Council to host special meeting 6:30 p.m. Monday

The Pacific City Council will discuss filling vacant city hall positions and the effects of the cancellation of the city's insurance and possible dis-incorporation at a special meeting scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Monday at Pacific City Hall.

The council will discuss filling some of the vacant positions in City Hall, including: city clerk; finance director; community services director; and public works/community development director.

In addition there will be a discussion about the possible ramifications of the city’s insurance being cancelled and dis-incorporation of Pacific.

The city’s insurance carrier has notified Pacific that it’s insurance will be cancelled on Dec. 31 if efforts are not made to hire for the vacant positions in city hall.

Without insurance the city will likely consider dis-incorporation, rather than exposing city employees and elected officials to liability.

The meeting begins at 6:30 p.m. Monday at Pacific City Hall at 100 Third Ave. S.E.
