U.S. Army Chaplain Capt. John McDougall played “Amazing Grace” on the bagpipes as City and community leaders gathered for Pacific’s flagpole dedication and plaque unveiling at City Hall on Veterans Day.
Mayor Leanne Guier helped unveil the plaque. It reads: “The American flag does not fly because the wind moves past it. The American flag flies from the last breath of all that have died protecting it.”
Led by City Councilmember Katy Garberding, the flagpole improvements – including lights and landscaping – and dedication plaque were paid for by community member donations and elbow grease from Boy Scout Troop 540.
