The City of Pacific is looking for a citizen to replace Councilwoman Nicole Hagestad, who resigned this week to devote more time to family.

The city will accept applications for the next two weeks to fill the vacancy on an interim basis. Qualified applicants will be interviewed before the May 18 council meeting, said Mayor Richard Hildreth.

Hagestad, who was elected to the council in 2005, would have been up for re-election this fall. Council members must be registered voters who have lived in Pacific for at least one year.
