Auburn City Councilman Bill Peloza has been elected to the National League of Cities (NLC) 2018 board of directors.
Peloza’s selection was announced at the recent NLC City Summit Conference in Charlotte, N.C.
Peloza, who will serve on the board’s membership committee, joins 49 local elected officials from throughout the U.S. to help govern and set policy for the country’s cities and towns.
“The membership committee is an important element for recruiting new cities into the over 18,000 NLC city membership,” Peloza said. “The larger the membership, the more benefits for all, such as coalition efforts with Congress in promoting city issues (transportation and infrastructure).”
Other NLC’s 2018 0fficers include: president: Little Rock, Ark., Mayor Mark Stodola; first vice president: Gary, Ind., Mayor Karen Freeman-Wilson; second vice president: Los Angeles Council member Joe Buscaino; and immediate past president: Cleveland Council member Matt Zone.
