Auburn police responded to the
following calls for service:
DEC. 12
Burglary: 3 p.m., 10 block of 16th Street Northwest. Subjects unknown burglarized a unit at Public Storage of items not specified.
DEC. 14
Assault: 9:53 p.m., 900 block of 8th Street Southeast. Police arrested a 22-year-old woman after she and her stepfather got into a fight.
Assault: 7:44 p.m., 1100 block of Auburn Way South. In the picturesque language of Auburn police, “an assault occurred.”
DEC. 15
Assault: 10:22 a.m., 6000 block of South 298th Place. A man told police that his wife struck him on the face with an open hand during an argument, opening up a cut.
Violation of order: 1:42 p.m., 2000 block of Fir Street Southeast. A man fled to Reno earlier this year after assaulting his nephew. Recently the man returned to the city and the home where his nephew and other family members live. After threatening the nephew again, bad uncle ran away one more time. Police subsequently arrested him for an assault warrant and a felony violation of a court order with his nephew.
Theft from building: 1:50 p.m., 5100 block of South 297th Place. A female, age not remotely hinted at, stole a ring from a closet when she and her male companion, age also a mystery, looked at a home for sale.
Home burglary: 3:10 p.m., 31000 block of 119th Avenue Southeast. Somebody or several somebodies burglarized a home and swiped several undefined items.
Branch brute: 4:25 p.m., 620 37th St. SE. Somebody caught a male, age not given, for breaking branches off of trees at Mt. Baker Middle School. Police didn’t say if they arrested him.
Assault: 12:05 p.m., 2300 block of N Street Northeast. A woman reported that her ex-boyfriend scratched her neck and assaulted her while he was at her home. The ex-boyfriend fled the residence before police arrived.
Burglary: 9:50 p.m., 113 E. Main St. Persons unknown broke the front door lock to Coffee Island Tea, getting in but taking nothing of value.
Assault with a knife: 4:07 a.m., 400 block of 21st Street Southeast. A man reported that another man stabbed him after trying to rob him of cigarettes and cash he did not possess.
DEC. 16
Assault with a firearm: 8:36 p.m., 1500 block of A Street Southeast. Police arrested a man for first-degree assault after he pointed a handgun at another male, telling him to get back in his vehicle or he would “blow his head off.”
Foul ball: 9:45 p.m., 1900 block of C Street Southeast. A man told police that someone from a black GMC Jimmy threw a baseball at him, hitting him on the back of the head. The suspect got away.
Theft from motor vehicle: 6:06 a.m., 220 block of E Street Southeast. A man reported a theft of undisclosed items from his vehicle. Left out of the police account was any detail about how the thief got in.
