Auburn police responded to the following calls for service between Sept. 9 and Sept. 8:
SEPT. 9
Assault: 2:47 a.m.,
100 block of C Street Northwest. A man called to report that somebody he knew had assaulted him and swiped his pistol. After further investigation, police determined that the pistol taking was an accident, and the victim declined to press charges for the assault.
Burglary: Overnight, 4300 block of Auburn Way North. Somebody entered the storage yard of Bent Bike and stole one of their bent bikes, an orange 2005 KTM 250SX dirt bike that they lifted over the fence.
Vandalism: 11:48 a.m., 1900 block of F Street Southeast. Somebody cut the lock off a locked parking lot and entered said parking lot. Just what the intruder did once in there is one of those mysteries.
Purse theft: 9 p.m., 3800 block of A Street Southeast. An employee at Subway restaurant left her purse near a common restroom area and found that it was missing during her shift work.
SEPT. 8
Burglary: 7 a.m., 25 30th St. N.E. Somebody entered the yard at Qwest Communications by unknown means, smashed a vehicle window and commenced to swiping things.
Assault: 11:36 a.m.,
800 block of F Street Southeast. Police arrested a man for assault after he pushed down his wife and choked her with a pillow and then his hand.
Explosives: 1:30 p.m., 1101 D St. N.E. A Valley Regional Fire Authority battalion chief received 13 M201A1 military grade grenade fuses and an M83 smoke canister from a Kent citizen. The citizen brought the items into Auburn Fire Station 31. All of the items were later turned over to the Port of Seattle.
Theft from car: Overnight, 1400 block of 33rd Street Southeast. Somebody
removed the passenger tires and wheels from somebody’s vehicle while it was parked in the victim’s driveway.
Vandalism: 9:27 p.m., 10 block of 16th Street Northwest. A security guard for a local storage company discovered two motor homes had been broken into and ransacked.
Bum rapped: 5 p.m., 500 Auburn Way S. A man walked into the Auburn Police station complaining that he had been assaulted by transients.
