Jan. 27

Fraud: 11:15 a.m., 1500 block of Auburn Way North. Auburn police arrested a woman for financial fraud after she presented an invalid check for cashing. The woman said that a man had given her the check and demanded part of the proceeds.

Shoplifting: 6:21 p.m., 1650 West Valley Highway S. An unknown man stole a wood chipper from a local farm store, loaded it in the trunk of his small blue vehicle and drove away.

Jan. 31

Trespassing: 11:30 a.m., 1007 Auburn Way S. Two guys got themselves kicked out of the Farmers Market with instructions not to return any time soon.

Strong arm robbery: 6:01 p.m., 3800 block of D Street Southeast. A guy who had been drinking was walking down D Street Southeast when another male approached and asked for a light. At that point, a second male grabbed the victim around the neck while the first male rooted around in his pockets, quickly finding his wallet with $500 cash inside. The guy told police his robbers never threatened him with weapons, but he did complain later of pain to the left side of his neck.

Feb. 1

Robbery: 1:51 a.m., 2117 Auburn Way South. A man in front of the Muckleshoot Bingo Hall shoved a woman, snatched her purse and ran away. The woman told police that the purse contained $880 in cash and some credit cards.

Felony eluding: 8:35 a.m., 1500 A St. SE. Auburn police pursued a stolen vehicle from Oregon but ended the hot pursuit before stopping the stolen vehicle.

Shoplifting: 3 p.m., 801 Auburn Way N. Police arrested a man and booked him into jail for trying to shoplift a grocery cart stuffed with merchandise.

Weapons offense: 8:45 p.m., 200 block of 21st Place Southeast. Police arrested a man for discharging a firearm and reckless endangerment.

Feb. 2

Theft: 5:57 a.m., 2402 Auburn Way S. A woman reported some sort of theft from her vehicle. Police did not disclose what was stolen.

Auto theft: 5:17 p.m., 30600 block of 1228th Place Southeast. An Auburn resident told police that somebody stole his or her red 2004 Ford truck while it was warming up in his or her driveway.

Prowling: 6:30 a.m., 12800 block of Southeast 299th Street. An Auburn resident reported that after hearing the alarm for his or her vehicle go off, he or she saw two unknown subjects running from the driveway where his or her vehicle was parked.

Theft from building: 1:16 p.m., 2700 block of R Street Southeast. Somebody cut a window screen and swiped a box of razor blades from a building.

Controlled substance: 2:13 p.m., 3030 R St. SE. Police arrested a man in Game Farm Park for possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute.
