Auburn police responded to the following calls for service among many others between July 25 and July 28:
July 28
Obstructing justice: 9:27 a.m., 1800 block of C Place Southeast. Police responded to a report of a suspicious character asleep in a van. Police arrested said suspicious character on warrants and for lying to an officer of the law. The suspicious character was given accommodations in the Auburn Jail.
Vandalism: 10:37 a.m., 4900 block of D Street Northeast. Persons unknown shot out the windows of somebody’s vehicle with a pellet gun.
Shoplifting: 1:03 p.m., 1400 block of Supermall Way Southwest. Police arrested a female of undisclosed age for shoplifting after somebody observed her placing undisclosed items of undisclosed value into her purse in an undisclosed store at the Supermall.
Vandalism: Overnight, 1347 Auburn Way N. Some hooligan broke a vehicle’s windows and slashed its two front tires while said vehicle was peaceably parked in the Albertsons parking lot.
July 27
Theft: 11:37 a.m., 1400 block of 22nd Street Northeast. Somebody stole property of some kind with some sort of value from somewhere on 22nd Street
Burglary: 8 a.m., 1215 West Valley Highway North. Somebody burglarized the Java Garden of two 55-gallon barrels of acetone.
Shoplifting: 2:20 p.m., 1702 Auburn Way N. Police arrested a woman for shoplifting at Top Foods.
Theft from motor vehicle: 6:15 p.m., 1101 Supermall Way SW. Somebody broke out a window on a truck parked in the lot of the Supermall in an apparent attempt to steal the GPS unit inside.
July 26
Burglary of a church: Overnight, 123 L St. NE. Somebody broke a window at St. Matthew Episcopal Church and stole Oreos and Cola.
Theft property: Overnight, 1800 block of C Street Southeast. A man reported that somebody stole his 6,000 pound, 3-ton Easy Lift “Cherry Picker” from his driveway overnight. The unit was valued at $350.
July 25
Theft from motor vehicle: 9:30 p.m., 1015 24th St. NE. A woman told police that her son had parked her red 1993 Nissan pickup truck in the parking lot of Cascade Middle School, whereupon somebody broke into it and swiped a number of undisclosed items.
