Police blotter | Oct. 16

Auburn police responded to the following calls for service, among many others, between Oct. 8 and Oct. 13:

Oct. 8

Vandalism by marker: 8:30 a.m., 1800 block of K Street Southeast. Two kids took a permanent marker and wrote on the back of another kid’s jacket. The suspects admitted their misdeed and police forwarded the case to prosecutors.

Theft: 10:23 a.m., 100 block of N Street Southeast. Unknown persons swiped somebody’s undefined property that happened to be lying on the ground. Police did not disclose a value.

Oct. 9

Stealing wire: 7:30 p.m., 6200 block of Perry Avenue Southeast. City crews were sent out at 3 p.m. to secure open junction box lids over an underground street light conduit. At that time the wire had been cut at the boxes, but it was still there. Crews were called back at 7:30 p.m. that same night to find the lids opened again and 900 feet of copper wire missing. Police did not disclose a value.

Oct. 11

Illegal grow: 10:53 a.m., 1500 block of J Street Southeast. When a search warrant executed on a man’s house led police to more than 138 marijuana plants and numerous other illegal drugs and drug trafficking items, they decided to arrest him.

Theft: Noon, 801 Auburn Way N. Police arrested a man for organized retail theft after store security at Fred Meyer caught him shoplifting some undisclosed thing. During the incident, the thief cut a security tag off of the stolen item, elevating a case of third-degree theft to a felony.

Vandalism: 8:13 p.m., 500 block of 21st Street Southeast. A woman reported that somebody shot at her living room window with a BB gun.

Pot possession: 10:32 p.m., 1000 block of B Street Southeast. Police arrested a male – young, old, police wouldn’t say – for possession of 2.3 grams of marijuana. A citizen had watched the male and his male friends walking in the parking lot of Terminal Park Elementary and called 911. Police located the male and his male friends two blocks away from the school. During the initial contact with the male and his male friends, officers detected the odor of marijuana wafting from said males. The male arrestee admitted to having marijuana and retrieved it from his pocket. Police arrested the male and booked him into the Auburn Jail, age still undefined.

Oct. 12

Fraud: 1:12 a.m., 120 block of 49th Street Northwest. Police arrested a man and a woman – him for a felony Department of Corrections warrant, her for obstructing a police officer and possessing burglary tools and some sort of stolen access device.

Energy drink boosting: 3:06 p.m., 1702 Auburn Way N. Police arrested a girl for swiping a couple cans of Monster energy drink from the north end Top Foods and released her to the custody of a parent.

Oct. 13

Trespassing: 12:35 a.m., 2400 block of Auburn Way South. Being told in no-nonsense terms to stay away from the Muckleshoot Casino just didn’t do the trick for one man, because he walked in again and got himself arrested.
