Auburn Police are investigating a gunfight that took the life of a man in his early 20s on June 28 at Belara at Lakeland Apartments.
Police said they responded to the shooting at 6180 Terrace View Lane SE at about 9:45 p.m, and that four to five men were involved.
The victim, Noah Malik Nettles, 20, a Federal Way resident, died at the scene, according to the Pierce County Medical Examiner.
“There was some sort of an altercation between a couple of the subjects, guns came out, multiple shots were fired, and one person died at the scene,” said Auburn Police Cmdr. Steve Stocker.
Stocker said that two of the men were transported to Auburn Regional Medical Center with minor gunshot wounds, and a third was transported to Tacoma General with serious injuries.
Police found a gun and money at the scene.
“Right now, nobody is under arrest because detectives are still trying to sort out what happened, who started what, and if there is a suspect, which one it is, because our suspect may be the person who is deceased, or he may be the person who is still at Tacoma Hospital,” Stocker said. “We’re still trying to figure out what the relationship was between the people involved.”
