The King County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed the identity of a woman killed as a result of a shooting on June 28 at a condominium complex near Muckleshoot Casino.
Kayshia Hardiman, 37, died in Auburn as a result of a single gunshot wound to the chest, according to the medical examiner’s office. The medical examiner’s office declared Hardiman’s death a homicide.
The Auburn Police Department developed probable cause to arrest a 21-year-old man for Hardiman’s death on a felony charge of murder in the second degree, according to the department.
The department released photos of and requested the public’s assistance in locating Marketha McCoy, 21, described as 5 foot 7 inches tall and 180 pounds.
According to the Auburn Police Department, police received reports on June 28 at approximately 4:13 a.m. of a shooting near the Greentree Condominiums.
Police arrived at the scene to find a woman shot once. According to the department, first responders attempted lifesaving measures.
According to the department, the suspect shot Hardiman at close range in an execution style killing.
As of July 5, police have not arrested McCoy.
“We will be sure to put something out if he is brought into custody,” said Kolby Crossley, public information officer for the department.
