The Lions of Zone C-3 District 19C hosted its sixth annual Special Needs Youth Fishing Derby last Saturday at the Auburn Mill Pond Park. Preschool and school-age special needs youth enjoyed a day of fishing with family and friends.

State officials stocked the pond with more than 1,000 fish. Lions Club members cleaned and packaged fish for anglers. Sumner Lions provided food and beverages at a nominal cost.

The City of Auburn, Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife, and Auburn Sports & Marine sponsored the event, with contributions from the Green River Steelhead Trout Club.
