The Auburn Food Bank’s annual Holiday Basket Giveaway at Holy Family Catholic Church distributed Thanksgiving meals to about 700 families Tuesday.
“This is absolutely important,” said one volunteer while moving boxes of frozen turkeys. “We’re hoping to feed as many people as possible.”
Families signed up for the baskets, which included all the makings for a Thanksgiving dinner. The baskets were distributed through a careful registration, tagging and tracking system procedure. Volunteers at each station made the baskets in efficient, assembly-line fashion for families to pick up.
