The 10th annual Reaching Out Fair – its focus on how to keep children and youth safe – will unfold from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Oct. 9 at the Auburn Performing Arts Center.
The public is invited.
The Auburn School District, the Cities of Auburn, Algona and Pacific, Green River Community College and the Muckleshoot Indian Tribe are hosts for the program.
A resource information fair will be available from 6 to 7 p.m. Resources from various organizations, such as Auburn Parks and Recreation, YMCA and Auburn Youth Resources, will be shared with the community.
The information fair is specifically geared toward middle school students. They are encouraged to attend to learn more about the resources available to them, as well as to be entered into a drawing to win one of three $100 SuperMall gift certificates. Free pizza, juice and cookies will be provided.
After the fair, student presenters will show off their talent and share testimonials about individuals who have made a difference in their lives. The event will highlight student success and is intended to communicate that all children can make an impact in their homes, schools and communities.
The live finale includes a ballroom dance-off between the middle school principals and their professional dance partners from the Pacific Ballroom Dance Company. Last year’s champion was Louanne Decker, former Mt. Baker Middle School principal.
