READY for mental health support effort invites public to Nov. 13 program

The Auburn School District and the Blue Ribbon Committee for Auburn invite the community to a presentation and facilitated discussion of Real Emergency Aid Depends on You (READY) and Teen READY from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 13 at the Auburn Performing Arts Center, 702 Fourth St. NE.

The READY program provides information about common mental health issues, basic skills to use in an emergency situation, bridging the gap until 911 responds and what to expect when they arrive. The Teen READY program specifically provides information about the ways a teen may be asking for help with a mental health challenge, common mental health issues for teens, basic tools to use at critical times, whom to ask for help and what happens when 911 is called.

One in five adults and teens experience mental health issues. This program helps provide immediate solutions to help youth and adults.
