The fifth annual South King County Latino Family Health & Safety Fair is set for 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sept. 26, at Grace Community Church, 1320 Auburn Way S.

Many community agencies came together to organize this free event, which features free dental, vision, blood pressure and diabetes screenings for all who attend this event. Women aged 40-64 also can get free Pap tests and mammograms by appointment.

Also featured are presentations about immigrant and worker rights, domestic violence, employment and nutrition among others. Attendees will also enjoy food, music, folkloric dance, raffles and activities for children.

Last year’s Health of King County report showed that South King County experiences lower health status and more limited access to health care when compared with other areas of the county.

“This health fair is an opportunity for communities in south King County to connect to valuable health information and services,” said Dr. David Fleming, director and health officer for Public Health – Seattle & King County.
