Rep. Roach to hold tele-town hall meeting

Rep. Dan Roach will hold a telephone community conversation with citizens throughout the 31st District, Thursday, March 26 from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m., to discuss legislative issues and offer people an opportunity to ask questions about the legislative session.

The “tele-town hall meeting” is a new technology Roach is using to reach out to citizens and hear their viewpoints.

“People are really busy, and it is often difficult to attend a traditional town hall meeting,” said Roach, R-Bonney Lake. “There are some very important issues under discussion in Olympia, including a budget deficit of nearly $9 billion. I’m excited to use this new technology to connect with residents and hear their comments and ideas.”

Calls will be made to citizens throughout the 31st District. People may also call in to the program. The technology works much like a call-in radio show. The interactive telephone system allows residents to listen live, ask questions and take part in a poll on legislative issues. Residents have complete control over how they choose to participate and how long they want to stay connected.

Those wishing to participate may call the following number, beginning at 7 p.m., March 26: 1-877-229-8493. When requested, enter pin number 13452.

“This is a great way to participate in your government. Best of all, you can do it from the comfort of your own home. I encourage everyone who has a stake in the outcome of this year’s legislative process, to pick up the phone and participate in our community conversation,” Roach said.
