Citizens from throughout the 31st Legislative District are being invited to participate with Rep. Dan Roach in a telephone town hall meeting at 6:50 p.m. Thursday.
The program works much like a call-in radio show and offers callers an opportunity to ask questions, vote in a survey, and engage in a community conversation with Roach from the comfort of their own homes.
“Many of the bills that were passed during the 2010 legislative regular and special sessions will be going into effect within the next month,” Roach said. “Some of the tax increases, all of which I opposed, are already active. I’d like to provide an update of how this legislation could affect our local citizens.
“More important, however, is that I want to have a community conversation with people from throughout the district and hear their views about the session and what is important to them,” said Roach, R-Bonney Lake.
To connect to the teleconference, call toll-free: 1-877-229-8493 and enter PIN 15565. Once connected, callers will have an opportunity to go “live” with Roach to ask questions by pressing Star 3 (*3) on their telephone keypads. They will also have the ability to vote on poll questions throughout the hour-long tele-forum.
“I’ve held several of these tele-town hall meetings in the past and they’ve been very well attended and received. I’m looking forward to engaging with constituents about the issues affecting the 31st District. I invite citizens to join me with their questions,” added Roach.
