Semi crashes into train in Auburn

After a wrong turn, the semi was stuck on the train tracks.

A train in Auburn collided with a semi-truck, destroying the train but leaving the Amtrak’s 157 passengers and the truck driver unscathed.

According to the Auburn Police Department, at around 10:18 a.m. on Jan. 18, on the train tracks at 29th B Street Northwest, the truck made a wrong turn and got stuck on the train tracks. Subsequently, the southbound train struck the vehicle.

Both driver and occupant exited the vehicle safely. The crash caused the southbound lane of B Street to be closed, and there was a reported delay of 60 minutes for all trains operating between Seattle and Tacoma, according to APD.
