The first recorded pink salmon run was discovered recently in Olson Creek on Mary Olson Farm.
According to the Muckleshoot Indian Tribe Fisheries Department, many groups of pink salmon have forged new habitat due to their record numbers this year.
As a result, Olson Creek now boasts chum, Coho and pink salmon runs. The presence of the pink salmon is a good sign that Olson Creek is healthy. Pink salmon, which spawn biannually, will return to Olson Creek every other year for the foreseeable future.
