For the Reporter
Drivers planning to use southbound State Route 167 this weekend should expect delays, as crews will close a portion of the highway around the clock.
Contractor crews working for the Washington State Department of Transportation plan to repave about one mile of southbound SR 167 and complete construction of a new 368-foot-long fish passable culvert.
The work is a part of the SR 167 Southbound HOT Lane Extension project.
Closure details
Around the clock from 11 p.m. Friday, Aug. 19, to 5 a.m. Monday, Aug. 22, crews will close:
• All lanes of southbound SR 167 between Ellingson Road and 8th Street East.
• The southbound SR 167 off-ramp to 8th Street East.
To avoid long waits, drivers should travel early in the morning or later in the evening, or reschedule discretionary trips. Signed detour routes will direct drivers to the West Valley Highway and allow them to re-enter southbound SR 167 at 8th Street East.
