Special assist from Auburn police

Sam’s Club at the Auburn SuperMall held a Police Appreciation Day on Monday to present a $1,000 grant to the Lakewood Police Department, commemorating the loss of four officers in a Lakewood coffee shop shooting last November.

Sam’s Club at the Auburn SuperMall held a Police Appreciation Day on Monday to present a $1,000 grant to the Lakewood Police Department, commemorating the loss of four officers in a Lakewood coffee shop shooting last November.

Sam’s Club also planned to present a $850 community grant and a $250 volunteer grant to the Auburn Police Department. But Auburn police surprised everybody by handing their checks to Lakewood police.
