Auburn Police responded to the following calls for service, among many others, between Dec. 25 and Jan. 1:
Dec. 25
Commercial burglary: 6:04 a.m., 1119 E. Main St. A burglary went down in downtown Auburn.
Another burglary: 6:28 a.m., 221 Auburn Way N. A commercial burglary occurred on Auburn Way North.
Weapons offense: Overnight, 950 block of E Street Southeast. Someone unknown pumped a bullet or two into an empty vehicle.
Dec. 30
Assault: Overnight, 2455 F St. SE. Police busted a man at Sierra Meadows Apartments after an alleged domestic violence assault augmented by unlawful imprisonment.
Weapons offense: 10:45 a.m., 100 block of 37th St. SE. Unknown suspect fired a gun at a home and then fled in a vehicle.
Burglary: 10:41 a.m., 30402 132nd Avenue SE. Burglars broke into storage units. Report didn’t say if they got anything.
Bicycle theft: Overnight, 102 W. Main St. Someone stole a bike from a parking lot.
Jan. 1
Suspicious activity: 9:53 a.m., 500 C St. SW. Police impounded a running vehicle, possibly stolen, after it was left in the middle of a major intersection.
Theft: 10:11 a.m., 801 Auburn Way N. Police arrested a suspect for shoplifting and theft after he skedaddled from Fred Meyer with a purloined home theater system. While still skedaddling, the guy stole a bag of groceries from a family as they were loading up their vehicle. Members of that family confronted the guy, and the groceries and the home theater system were returned. A police search of the guy turned up of a stolen credit card and what appeared to be numerous illegal narcotics, all in violation of a stay-out-of-drug-area order. While officers were booking the guy into jail, they found numerous warrants out there for his arrest. The guy had lied about his name, giving the names of his younger brothers as his own to police and jail staff.
