A report of a suspicious package in Pacific forced the evacuation of several businesses, as well as road closures in Pacific on Friday.
The Pacific Police Department responded to a report that a “black backpack type bag” was found, unattended near a garbage can by the south doors at the Jack In The Box restaurant at 402 Seattle Blvd. N., near Ellingson Road.
“Based on recent events in Boston, the restaurant and adjacent businesses were evacuated,” Pacific Police stated in a press release. “Local traffic was diverted from the area.”
The Federal Way Police Department’s bomb squad was called in to investigate the backpack and after finding the bag contained “miscellaneous items not related to any explosive related materials” local businesses were notified and allowed to assume business as normal and the roads were opened.
