A sport utility vehicle collided with an Auburn School District bus late on Friday morning, May 12.
There were no children on the bus at the time of the accident.
According to the Auburn School District, the vehicles collided at Southeast 304th and 132nd Avenue Southeast. The incident was called in to the Auburn Police Department at 10:14 a.m.
“There were no students on the bus, and the bus driver did not require immediate medical attention,” said ASD information officer Vicki Alonzo.
Auburn police said the driver of the SUV sustained minor injuries.
APD is conducting the investigation and will determine the exact circumstances and who was at fault.
Asked about the job status of the bus driver, Alonzo responded as follows:
“We follow the laws of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration regarding accidents. An employee involved in an accident that requires alcohol/drug testing may return to work once the negative results are received and they feel well enough to return to work,” Alonzo said.
