I wish to express by personal, sincere thanks to all of the volunteers who worked so hard for several hours Saturday (Nov. 14) sandbagging the levee along the Green River behind our apartment building.
As I occasionally watched them from my apartment deck, it certainly seemed to be a well-coordinated project, but nonetheless was backbreaking work. All of these people are to be commended for giving up a few hours of their weekend to help save the property of others if flooding occurs.
On a side note, after a trip to the store that afternoon and after parking my car, one of the CERT volunteers who was nearby insisted on carrying my groceries to my apartment. That nice young man made my day.
