Chinook, Evergreen Heights and Lake View elementary schools were named 2014 Schools of Distinction award winners.
The Center for Educational Effectiveness, in partnership with the Association of Educational Service Districts, the Association of Washington School Principals, Washington Association of School Administrators, Washington State ASCD and Washington State School Directors’ Association announced the awards this week.
The award recognizes the top-5 percent of schools with outstanding improvement in reading and math sustained over a five-year period. This represents the eighth annual School of Distinction award recognitions in the state. Only 54 elementary schools in the state achieved this award.
The schools will be recognized at an awards ceremony Nov. 5 at the Puget Sound Educational Service District in Renton.
