Pacific residents will have choices in the Nov. 3 general election, with a contested race for mayor and two of the three City Council spots up for grabs.
Incumbent Mayor Leanne Guier, who was appointed to the office in 2013, will face longtime resident Gary Nitschke, who ran for City Council in 2013.
Don Thomson, former chairperson of the committee that successfully recalled then-mayor Cy Sun, and David B. Storaasli will vie for Position 6 on the council. Joshua Putnam is stepping down from the position at the end of his term.
Incumbent Clint Steiger and Brice Erickson will run for council’s No. 3 position.
Councilmember Katie Garberding will run unopposed for Position No. 1.
