The anticipated completion of construction work on Auburn Way South from the Muckleshoot Plaza to Dogwood Street is near. Unfortunately, the last stages of work are expected to have significant traffic impacts.

Beginning Monday evening – after 7 – March 26, the City’s contractor will be removing existing pavement and installing traffic signal components in the roadway in preparation for final paving.

This work is anticipated to take two weeks and will require lane restrictions on Auburn Way South. Installation of the traffic signal components requires dry weather and therefore, may be delayed or re-scheduled without advance notice.

Additionally, Riverwalk Drive SE will be closed to all traffic between Howard Road and Auburn Way South from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. on Monday, March 26 and Tuesday, March 27.

Local residents and businesses should anticipate construction noise during the evening and early morning hours while the work is taking place.

Heavy congestion is anticipated during the lane restriction hours noted above; please plan accordingly. Access to residences and businesses within the project area will be maintained during construction.
