Traffic alert: Two major events Saturday evening to impact streets

The city of Auburn traffic division, police department and streets division will be working in the coming days and weeks to accommodate extra activities, festivals and traffic.

The majority of the impacts will be seen on Auburn Way South, the Muckleshoot Casino area and the White River Amphitheatre. Officials want to inform area residents of the upcoming activities so they can plan accordingly for increased traffic and noise.

City officials encourage residents to expect traffic delays during these times and allow extra time when traveling.

Traffic advisories

A Street SE and 37th Street SE Intersection

Beginning Monday, June 24, through Wednesday, June 26, construction work by Road Construction Northwest for the 37th Street SE and A Street SE Traffic Signal Project, will require lane closures and disruptions in all directions at the intersection of ‘A’ Street SE and 37th Street SE from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. The work is dependent on weather and may be rescheduled without further notice. Access to residences and businesses within the project area will be maintained during construction, but delays should be expected.

Ellingson Road – C Street SW to A Street SE

Continuing through Thursday, July 2, construction work by ICON Materials, for the 2019 Citywide Pavement Patching and Overlay Project, will require lane shifts and traffic disruptions on Ellingson Road between C St. SW and A St. SE, to construct curb ramps in preparation of constructing a grind and overlay of the roadway. The work will occur at different times and dates for each direction of travel:

June 20 to June 25: Eastbound direction curb lane closure between the hours of 7-10:30 a.m.

June 26 to July 2: Westbound direction curb lane closure between the hours of 3-7 p.m.

The work is dependent on weather, and may be rescheduled without further notice. Access to businesses within the project area will be maintained during construction, however delays should be expected. Please pay close attention to flaggers and signs.

Auburn Way South – Union Court SE to 32nd Street SE

Through Friday, June 28, 2019, construction work by Stafford Excavating for the MIT Allotment M7 West project, will require lane closures and disruptions to both directions of Auburn Way South, from Union Court SE to 32nd Street SE, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. The work is not dependent on weather and may be rescheduled without further notice. Access to residences and businesses within the project area will be maintained during construction, but delays should be expected.
