July 8

July 9
CPR: 4 p.m. (Auburn). Firefighters responded to reports of CPR in progress. Firefighters learned that a man had collapsed, and a family member had begun life-saving efforts before they arrived. Firefighters and King County Medic One paramedics took over, and the man regained a pulse. Paramedics transported him to MultiCare Auburn Medical Center.
Brush fire: 7:59 p.m. (Pacific). Firefighters responded to an outdoor smoke investigation near the White River, where they found light gray smoke over a large area and located a potential source. Despite attempts to access the site from both sides of the river, they were unsuccessful. Pacific Police used a drone to identify a 30’ x 30’ smoldering grass and log fire at the river’s edge, likely caused by an unattended homeless campfire. Due to access issues, firefighters left the fire to smolder and verified it was out the next day.
July 10
Wildland/brush fire: 12:59 p.m. (Auburn). Firefighters responded to a fire in heavy brush near SE 296th Place and SE 299th Place. Upon arrival, they found a 20’ x 20’ area with active flames spreading south. Firefighters quickly worked to contain the fire before it could threaten any structures. Crews then conducted mop-up operations and ongoing surveillance to ensure the fire did not reignite.
July 11
Battery fire: 2:12 p.m. (Auburn). Firefighters responded to a possible lithium-ion battery fire. Upon arrival, they found a semi-trailer loaded with a pallet of smoking batteries that had previously caught fire. Firefighters cooled the batteries with a handline and assisted workers in their safe removal.
Commercial fire: 8:38 p.m. (Pacific). Firefighters were dispatched to a fire on the exterior of a commercial building. Upon arrival, they upgraded the call to a working fire response due to the significant smoke inside the building. VRFA firefighters quickly extinguished the fire, limiting most of the damage to one wall of the structure.
July 12
