Valley Regional Fire Authority to break ground on new Lea Hill Fire Station

The Valley Regional Fire Authority Board of Governance will hold a groundbreaking ceremony at 4:30 p.m. Aug. 4 to initiate the construction of Lea Hill Fire Station 34.

The Valley Regional Fire Authority Board of Governance will hold a groundbreaking ceremony at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 4 to initiate the construction of Lea Hill Fire Station 34.

The ceremony will be held at the station, located north of the 31400 block of 124th Ave. SE. in Auburn. The public is welcome to attend.

Voters approved the funding for the construction of Lea Hill Fire Station 34 as part of a capital projects funding measure passed in February, 2008.

Station 34, located at 31204 124th Ave. SE, originally was slated for remodel, but constructing a new building was shown to be more cost effective and will enhance service to the community.

Station 34 is one of five VRFA fire stations serving Auburn, Algona and Pacific including North Auburn Station 31 at 1101 D St. NE, South Auburn Station 32 at 1951 R St. SE, Lakeland Station 33 at 500 182nd Ave. E and Pacific Station 38 at 133 3rd Ave. SE.
