Chriss Moen, a life member of Disabled American Veterans, Chapter A-One, 33, Kent, and Mike Sepal, right, life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 1741, Auburn, recently visited and had lunch with fellow veteran comrade Bob Hellers at the Washington Soldiers Home in Orting.

Hellers is retired, U.S. Coast Guard, senior chief, and life member of VFW Post 1741, and Soldiers Home resident.

Rosy Shook, senior dining hall manager for the Soldiers Home, served as gracious hostess.

The lunch was wonderful, Moen and Sepal said, and the visit was a good reminder that Veterans Day (Nov. 11) is rapidly approaching. Remember to thank a veteran for their service, they added.

Moen and Sepal are retired U.S. Army senior sergeants.
