Family and Friends will hold a candlelight vigil Saturday for Dwight Clark, whose body was found in Bellingham Bay on Wednesday.
The memorial will begin at 6 p.m. at Brannan Skate Park, located at 611 28th St. NE, Auburn. Clark, an Auburn High graduate, was well known and “loved the skate park” at Brannan, according to many of his family and friends.
Clark, an 18-year-old freshman student at Western Washington University, had been missing since he left a party in the early morning of Sept. 26. Clark never showed up at his Bellingham dorm six blocks away.
A Port of Bellingham worker discovered Clark’s body off a dock near the former Georgia-Pacific log pond around 11 a.m. Wednesday. Police spokesman Mark Young told the Bellingham Herald that the body appeared to be male, and identification belonging to Clark was found in a pocket.
A body pulled from the bay by the U.S. Coast Guard was later confirmed as Clark.
A medical identification and cause of death are expected later this week.
