The White River Valley Museum is looking for a few good volunteers to help lead school field trips this fall at historic Mary Olson Farm.
The farm is a limited-use, City of Auburn park – a 67-acre site that contains seven fully restored historic buildings, orchards, gardens, a salmon bearing stream and meadows – making it one of the best preserved family subsistence farms in King County.
More than 2,000 children tour the farm each fall. Volunteers learn to lead a small group of students from station to station on their 90-minute excursion. Tour guides are provided with the training and tools to be effective educators, but they must attend a Sept. 21 session from 10 a.m. to noon.
To learn more about volunteering, or to volunteer someone else, contact Janet Wells before Sept. 15 at 253-804-5010 or jwells@auburnwa.gov.
