Von Reichbauer to host Auburn town hall on identity theft

King County Councilmember Pete von Reichbauer hosts a town hall meeting addressing identity theft issues from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, April 2 at the Auburn High School Library, 800 Fourth St. NE.

The meeting brings together law enforcement members and other stakeholders to discuss identity theft prevention and remediation. Speakers will discuss common and emerging forms of identity theft, and how to combat them, as well as what to do if you become a victim.

Representatives from the King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office and the Office of the Attorney General, as well as the Washington State Identity Theft Alliance, will be the featured speakers. The panel also will answer questions from the public.

Following the panel discussion, American Data Guard, a secure document disposal company, will have a mobile shredding unit on site. All attendees are invited to bring old, unnecessary documents to be destroyed.
