The Valley Regional Fire Authority responded to 177 calls for service between April 16 and April 22, among them the following:
April 16
Car accident: 3:08 p.m., (Pacific). Firefighters responded to a report of a two-vehicle accident with injuries at the intersection of Nyberg and Valentine. Firefighters evaluated the patients and determined that the injuries were minor. The patients declined transport to a hospital.
April 17
Aid call: 1:48 p.m., (Auburn). Firefighters responded to a woman complaining of abdominal pain. King County Medics treated and transported the woman to Auburn Regional Medical Center (ARMC).
April 18
Aid call: 12 p.m., (Auburn). Firefighters helped a female who had fallen, sustaining facial injuries. Firefighters rendered first aid and assessed the woman’s vitals. The patient was taken to Valley Medical Center for further treatment.
April 19
Aid call: 6:37 p.m., (Lakeland Hills). Valley Com dispatched firefighters to the 700 block of 47th Street Southeast to help a woman who had fallen, with resulting back and leg pain. A private ambulance transported the woman to Auburn Regional Medical Center.
April 20
Aid call: 6:31 p.m., (South Auburn). Firefighters responded to a middle-aged woman in police custody, in the full throes of a panic attack. Firefighters evaluated the woman and determined that she had no no medical issues that needed further evaluation. Firefighters left the woman with law enforcement officials, who transported her to the SCORE jail.
April 21
Tree house fire: 10:10 a.m., (Pacific). Firefighters quickly contained and snuffed a fire in a 2-story tree house. Nobody was hurt and there was no reported dollar loss. Investigators are trying to determine what started the fire.
April 22
River Rescue: 5:58 p.m., (Auburn). Firefighters responded to a person stranded on an island in the middle of the Green River. Valley Regional Fire Authority Water Rescue Team rescued the person and his dog by boat and returned them to shore. The fellow was not hurt and did not require medical treatment. Renton Water Rescue Team also responded to this incident.
