VRFA fire and rescue blotter | April 6

The Valley Regional Fire Authority responded to 239 calls for service between March 26 and April 1, among them the following:

March 26

Aid call: 8:03 p.m., (Lea Hill). Firefighters treated a middle-aged woman for arm pain, and a private ambulance zipped her to Valley Medical Center.

March 27

Aid call: 5:39 p.m., (Lakeland Hills). Firefighters treated a middle-aged man for stroke-related medical issues, and a private ambulance scooted him to Good Samaritan Hospital for further evaluation.

March 28

Aid call: 4:55 p.m., (South Auburn). Firefighters responded to a senior citizen who was complaining of abdominal pain, and a VRFA aid unit drove her to MultiCare Auburn Medical Center (MAMC).

March 29

Aid call: 1:28 p.m., (Auburn). Firefighters assessed a woman who was complaining of a rapid heart rate, and motored her to MAMC for further treatment.

March 30

Aid call: 2:51 p.m., (Pacific). Firefighters evaluated a woman who was complaining of stroke-like symptoms, and a private ambulance transported her to MAMC.

March 31

Commercial structure fire: 12:46 p.m., (South Auburn). Firefighters responding to a reported commercial structure fire observed white smoke curling out of a small storage unit on the second floor. As its occupant had already killed the fire with dry chemical extinguishers, firefighters checked for extension, and, finding none, called a VRFA fire investigator to the scene.

April 1

Accident: 5:25 p.m., (Downtown Auburn). Firefighters responding to a two-car, minor mechanism, motor-vehicle accident evaluated the two young men involved for minor injuries, and then sped one of them to MAMC.
