The Valley Regional Fire Authority responded to 251 calls for service between Aug. 1 and 7, among them the following:

Aug. 1

Aid call: 1:30 p.m., (Algona). Firefighters and King County Medic One treated a man who was suffering chest pain, and medics transported him to MultiCare Auburn Medical Center (MAMC).

Aug. 2

Dumpster fire: 8:14 a.m., (Auburn). Having responded to a Dumpster fire and finding a cardboard compacter emitting smoke, firefighters secured the power and pulled the compactor away from the building, limiting damage to the compactor. No one was hurt. Investigators are working to determine the cause of the fire.

Aug. 3

Aid call: 4:12 p.m., (Lea Hill). After firefighters treated a teenage girl who had eaten a mango and suffered a mild allergic reaction, a private ambulance transported her to a local hospital.

Aug. 4

Aid call: 8 a.m., (South Auburn). Firefighters quickly assessed an Auburn senior who may have suffered a stroke, and a VRFA aid unit transported her to MAMC.

Aug. 5

Aid call: 3:15 p.m., (Lakeland Hills). Firefighters evaluated a young woman young who had fallen while she was walking down a flight of stairs, treated her for a possible broken foot, and a private ambulance transported her to MAMC for follow-up.

Aug. 6

Aid call: 5:26 p.m., (Auburn). Firefighters assessed a young man who had fractured his arm while he was loading scaffolding onto a forklift, and transported him to Valley Medical Center for further treatment.

Aug. 7

Accident: 3:59 p.m., (Pacific). Having responded to a rollover accident on Highway 167, firefighters treated and stabilized a young man who had gotten himself out of his vehicle, and a private ambulance transported him to MAMC.
