Aug. 10

Aid call: 1:49 p.m., (Pacific). After firefighters, the Pacific Police Department and King County Medic One evaluated a teenage girl who had overdosed on heroin, a private ambulance transported her to MultiCare Auburn Medical Center (MAMC).

Aug. 11

Trash can fire: 2:22 p.m., (South Auburn). Firefighters responding to a fire at Game Farm Park found a trash can with contents ablaze next to a lean-to. The flames and heat damaged a corner of the lean-to before firefighters extinguished the fire and notified Parks, Arts & Recreation Department officials. Investigators are trying to determine the cause.

Aug. 12

Aid call: 12:16 p.m., (Algona). Firefighters first assessed and treated an older woman who’d been struggling to catch her breath and then called in King County Paramedics to evaluate the woman. A private ambulance transported her to a local hospital.

Aug. 13

Car vs. bicycle: 2:20 p.m., (Lea Hill). After firefighters treated a young boy who’d been hit by a car, they transported him to MAMC with minor injuries. Eyewitnesses told firefighters that the car had run over the child’s legs.

Aug. 14

Aid call: 5 p.m., (Lakeland Hills). Firefighters responded to an older woman who was complaining of abdominal pain, and a private ambulance transported her to St. Francis Hospital.

Aug. 15

Aid call: 1 p.m., (Algona). After firefighters treated a man in the throes of a seizure, they arranged for his transportation to MAMC. The man had a history of seizures and medication to deal with it.

Aug. 16

Brush fire: 5:40 p.m., (Auburn). Firefighters hustling to the Interurban Trail at Highway 18 found a transient camp with various items on fire. Firefighters confined the fire to debris and garbage, ensuring that it would not spread to surrounding brush. A fire investigator responded to determine the cause of the fire.
