The Valley Regional Fire Authority responded to 231 requests for services between Aug. 11 and Aug. 17, among them the following:

Aug. 11

Accident: 5 p.m., (Auburn). Firefighters responding to a multi-car accident at West Valley Highway and Peasley Canyon Road found four vehicles and multiple patients. After they had evaluated all the injured people and treated them for various minor injuries, firefighters transported two people to St. Francis Hospital and a private ambulance transported two more to MultiCare Auburn Medical Center.

Aug. 12

Assault: 7:04 a.m., (South Auburn). Auburn Police called firefighters in to evaluate a man who had suffered an assault, sustaining minor wounds to his face and at least one bite to an arm. Once firefighters had determined that the man was in stable condition, they left him with police to finish his investigatory interview.

Aug. 13

Aid call: 5:25 p.m., (Lea Hill). Firefighters responding to a baby girl who wouldn’t stop crying comforted her, and then left her at home with the new father.

Aug. 14

Service call: 8:08 a.m., (Lakeland Hills). Firefighters helped homeowners shut down water that had been leaking from the front of the residence.

Aug. 15

Aid call: 2:45 p.m., (Lea Hill). After firefighters had evaluated a young boy who was having difficulty after a recent surgery, a private ambulance transported him to MAMC.

Aug. 16

Aid call: 5 p.m., (Auburn). Firefighters responded to a woman who was experiencing anaphylaxis-type symptoms after eating an apple and self-administering an EPI pen. Relieved of her symptoms, the woman decided to go to a hospital with her friend.

Aug. 17

Aid call: 2:49 p.m., (Pacific). After firefighters had evaluated a girl in the throes of an asthma attack at a neighborhood park, and she had self-administered her own medication, she seemed to get better. She did not want further treatment or transport to any facility, so firefighters released her to return home with a family member.
