The Valley Regional Fire Authority responded to 234 calls for service between Aug. 13 and Aug. 19, among them the following:
Aug. 13
Aid call: 5:37 p.m., (Lakeland Hills). Firefighters and King County Medics responding to a man in the throes of a cardiac event evaluated and treated him and medics drove him to Auburn Regional Medical Center.
Aug. 14
Kitchen fire: 4:16 p.m., (Auburn). Firefighters hustling to a cooking fire at a residence in South Auburn found that the resident had killed the fire but smoke still filled the house. Firefighters got the smoke out and treated one person for smoke inhalation
Aug. 15
Fire alarm: 10:27 a.m., (Lea Hill). Firefighters responding to an automatic fire alarm discovered that a painting contractor had accidentally set it off. Firefighters silenced and reset the alarm.
Aug. 16
Aid call: 7:07 a.m., (Pacific). Firefighters responding to a teenage boy who’d just suffered a seizure treated him and a private ambulance transported him to ARMC.
Aug. 17
Choking: 9:08 a.m., (Auburn). Firefighters responding to a report of a teenage girl who was choking found that she had cleared her airway before they got there.
Aug. 18
Aid call: 1:07 p.m., (Algona). Firefighters hurrying to a two-car accident on West Valley Highway and 1st Avenue North found two vehicles with moderate front end damage. Firefighters evaluated the occupants of both vehicles at the scene and transported one person in stable condition to ARMC for further evaluation.
Aug. 19
Aid call: 6:43 p.m., (Auburn). Firefighters responding to a report of a female lying on the side of the road found her unconscious with a medical bracelet stating that she was an epileptic. A private ambulance transported her to ARMC.
