The Valley Regional Fire Authority responded to 246 calls for service between Nov. 27 and Dec. 3, among them the following.

Nov. 27

Aid call: 5:17 p.m., (Pacific). Firefighters helped a man who had sustained a hip injury, and a private ambulance transported him to St. Francis Medical Clinic.

Nov. 28

Power box fire: 9:46 a.m., (Auburn). Firefighters responding to a report of arcing power lines found a smoking electrical vault, so they called in Puget Sound Energy to mitigate the situation.

Nov. 29

Aid call: 12:43 p.m., (Auburn). Firefighters treated a middle-aged woman for multiple lacerations on her arms, and a private ambulance transported her to a local hospital.

Nov. 30

Wires down: 1:52 p.m., (Algona). Firefighters called to help a garbage truck that had contacted a power line servicing a home found the driver safely out of the vehicle and an energized line draped over the garbage truck. Firefighters secured the area until PSE could respond and resolve the matter.

Dec. 1

Aid call: 10:58 a.m., (Lakeland Hills). Firefighters evaluated a toddler who was complaining of seizures and left him at home with his mama.

Dec. 2

Aid call: 10:43 a.m., (Lea Hill). Firefighters evaluated a man who was light-headed and complaining of general weakness, and a private ambulance transported him to to MultiCare Auburn Medical Center (MAMC) for further evaluation and treatment.

Dec. 3

Trailer fire: 10:22 a.m., (Auburn). . Firefighters responding to a hay trailer with a tire on fire discovered that the driver had put out that fire with a portable extinguisher before they got there. VRFA personnel cooled the trailer and checked to make sure the hay was not on fire.
