Between Feb. 3 and 9, The Valley Regional Fire Authority responded to 219 requests for service, among them the following:

Feb. 3

Aid call: 3:57 p.m., (Lakeland Hills). Firefighters responding to the 1100 block of 63rd Street Southeast examined a man who’d been complaining of severe leg pain and checked his vitals. After that, a private ambulance transported the man to MultiCare Auburn Medical Center (MAMC).

Feb. 4

Aid call: 10:53 a.m., (Pacific). Firefighters helped Pacific Police with an involuntary commitment of a patient who’d been displaying psychiatric issues. A private ambulance transported the man to MultiCare Auburn Medical Center (MAMC).

Feb. 5

Chimney fire: 9:41 a.m., (Auburn). Firefighters dispatched to a chimney fire with flames coming from the chimney arrived and determined the fire in the chimney had already burned out. Firefighters checked the surrounding walls with a thermal imaging camera to determine that the fire had not extended into the walls.

Feb. 6

Aid call: 11:07 a.m., (Lea Hill). Firefighters responded with King County Medics to a woman complaining of chest pain. Medics examined the woman, but she declined further treatment.

Feb. 7

Aid call: 9:25 a.m., (Auburn). After firefighters treated an Auburn senior who was suffering from stroke-like symptoms, medics transported her to MAMC.

Feb. 8

Fire: 10:30 a.m., (South Auburn). Firefighters responded to a burned screen door on the front of a residence. A South King County Fire Investigator helped firefighters with photos, looked things over, but as of this date had not yet determined what caused the fire.

Feb. 9

House fire: 3:48 a.m., (Lea Hill). Firefighters from VRFA and Kent RFA responding to an abandoned house fire in the 308th block of 124th Avenue SE quickly extinguished the blaze. The South King County Investigation Task Force was looking into the cause of the fire.
